There is presence of gender bias/sexism, glass ceiling effect, lack of emotional support, lack of empathy, treating employees as machines/non-humans, etc. in the workplace acting as barriers for people to be promoted (Amis et al., 2020). In case of gender bias, there is discrimination mostly against women to not recruit equal or more women than men in the workplace.
